Have you set written goals in all areas of your life for achieving greater Success?

You may have heard or read stories of many successful people. What is one thing common that these people have? They know what they want out of life. They know where they are and where they want to go. They have their goals clearly defined. Success never comes by any accident; you cannot buy it; you cannot inherit it. Success then depends only on putting in practice, a habit of setting and realizing goals. Goal setting process is a very powerful tool to improve degree of success. If life is considered journey then goals are road maps. Only when your goals are clearly defined and acted upon, you can move towards your destination. A good road map can guide you for reaching your destination. Having a road map does not mean that there will be no road blocks while you travel the path; the map only helps you to find alternatives to continue the journey of success. Similarly your goals provide you with a sense of direction. Goals keep you focused on the most important activity and create a force of attraction that pulls you towards success. By setting goals you can travel your journey from dream to realization with sense of fulfillment. You will now tell me that “I have set goals is it not sufficient? Why should I write it?

You should write your goals for the following reasons

  Writing necessarily connects you with your subconscious as you employ more than one sensory faculty. Therefore, writing down the goal gives a command to the vast reserves of unlimited unexplored potential you have within you! So writing is the Octane -8 fuel which will propel your jet of potential. Writing also makes your goal tangible. Your goals become real when you write them down. As you write them out you begin to see, feel, smell and or taste them. There is something magical that happens when you put pen to paper and record your goals. Written goals help you to stay focused your goal achievement. If you stay committed towards achieving your goal you will have clarity as where you are heading. A written goal is like a road sign which guides you and keeps you on track you can also estimate your progress from time to time if you have a written goal. If it is not the right direction you can readjust. Writing your goals increases your commitment. It also helps you to identify time and priority conflicts. Now that you have written your Goals, MASTER your goals. By M.A.S.T.E.R I mean Measurable, Attainable, Stretch, Time Bound, Enthusiastic, and Realistic. Set out on your journey.
